are great resources for planning and getting the most
out of your journey around New Zealand. All are available

cult personality of say, Lonely Planet books,
they do have something which makes them particularly
worthwhile – if you follow their trail you
won’t be doing the same thing that every
other backpacker is doing. The RG to New Zealand

of all the attractions and offerings that New
Zealand has. In addition to the usual information
on accommodation, activities etc, there is also
good information on adventure sports and hiking
trails – and the latest edition covers everything
you need to know about Lord of the Rings locations
as well. With color photographs and good maps,
the RG to New Zealand is a good purchase for those
intending to experience more of the NZ outdoors.
