There are a number of avenues open to you when trying to locate
teaching jobs in Ireland. Online job boards are springing up almost
monthly and there are a number of employment agencies that deal
specifically with education jobs in Ireland. Most of these agencies
are based in the Dublin area and surrounds, but there are sprinklings
of others all over Ireland. The Irish Independent newspaper, while
not cheap to buy, has primary school jobs advertised nearly every
day. If you sign up with agencies try to pick two or three and make
sure that you check in with them each day. You’ll need a mobile
phone so that you can be available for interviews at all times.
If you feel you aren’t getting good attention or service from
an agency don’t be afraid to drop them and go somewhere else
– and of course we’d like to hear about any experiences,
good or bad, that you have so we can keep future travellers informed.
We’ve put together a list of links and resources that should
help you find a teaching job in Ireland. Unfortunately we’re
not a recruitment agency so we cannot field specific questions about
employment matters. We hope however that the information that we
provide will help you attain the position you’re after. Click
here to go to the resources page.
Good luck! |
